Talk is cheap.
Despite their campaign rhetoric about focusing on creating jobs, Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives have instead launched an all-out assault on American women. Every day, they’re coming up with new and outrageous proposals that would harm women’s health and roll back programs that employ women and help families.
It’s up to you and me to stop them.
Contribute today -- and help me fight back against the House Republican efforts to turn back the clock on women’s health and women’s rights.
It’s appalling, but in two months, the House Republicans have ignored our urgent need for jobs and instead introduced measures designed purely to undo decades of progress for women. They include proposals to:
- Deny funding to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest provider of health and reproductive services to women.
- Cut nearly $800 million from the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program, which provides life-saving nutrition program for low-income families.
- And slash Head Start by nearly $1 billion, eliminating pre-school for more than 200,000 low-income kids -- not to mention the jobs of more than 50,000 teachers and instructors who are mostly women.
It’s true. The House Republicans have completely ignored the massive public call to create jobs, listening instead to the voices of the extreme few who want to restrict the rights of women and eliminate access to vital programs and services for families across America.
We can’t -- and we won’t -- let them win.

In the weeks ahead, the Senate will get our chance to vote on this extreme agenda. As the highest-ranking woman in Senate leadership, I’ll be calling on my colleagues to send a clear and unmistakable message to America’s women and families -- not to mention our Republican adversaries in the House.
Not on our watch. Not now. Not ever.

Thank you for standing with me.
P.S. I hope that you’ll join me in urging my fellow senators to stand with us and support the millions of women who depend on WIC, Head Start, and Planned Parenthood for services and programs that are critical to them and their families. Please click here to contribute, and help me fight back.
