"Key evidence on one of the world's worst oil spills could soon be in the hands of the leading suspects as BP and partner contractors are set to start salvaging the wreckage of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig.

The US government is leading what could become a criminal investigation into the disaster. But it does not have the technical expertise to gather evidence some 5,000 feet (1,500 meters) below the surface of the Gulf of Mexico..."

While it is TRUE that this is a gigantic salvage operation, to say that the United States Navy, NOAA, and other seafaring branches can not manage or find someone who could put together a salvage job like this?  Did anyone even try?   I BEG YOUR FUCKING PARDON!  We would probably hire nearly all the exact same people that BEEPEE, TRANSOCEAN, and the rest will be hiring, the only DIFFERENCE being that the interests of the AMERICAN PUBLIC and UNITED STATES PROSECUTOR would be covered.  I NEVER HEARD SUCH BULLSHIT AS 'US GOVERNMENT DOES NOT HAVE THE EXPERTISE' to salvage this rig.  THIS IS AMERICA.  IF WE DO NOT HAVE IT, WE FUCKING INVENT IT!

The very IDEA of enabling BEEPEE and the other oil bigs to continue lying to us is preposterous.

As Jim Hightower explains it, is that “the wealthiest 1 percent of Americans possess more net worth today than the bottom 90 percent of us combined. Worse, these privileged few and their political henchmen have structured a new economic ‘normal’ of long-term joblessness, low wages, no benefits or worker rights, miserly public services, and a steadily widening chasm between the rich and the rest of us.” We must restore sanity to this nation.
