As Jim Hightower explains it, is that “the wealthiest 1 percent of Americans possess more net worth today than the bottom 90 percent of us combined. Worse, these privileged few and their political henchmen have structured a new economic ‘normal’ of long-term joblessness, low wages, no benefits or worker rights, miserly public services, and a steadily widening chasm between the rich and the rest of us.” We must restore sanity to this nation.

AP IMPACT: US wasted billions in rebuilding Iraq GO.READ

This is an interesting story.  Many of us knew that this waste, graft, corruption, nepotism, and just plain thievery from the U.S. Treasury was/has been going on.  In FACT, I bet you all eleven dollars that stealing billions of dollars was part of the Cheney/Rumsfeld/NEOCON plan from the very beginning - even perhaps from BEFORE 9-11 - as they had been LOOKING for a war for some time before the "terrorist attack".  Wars make a lot of money for those in position to capitalise on the circumstance - which they largely create...

So, to my way of thinking, the upshot here is - IS IT WASTE IF THE CREATORS OF THE SITUATION HAULED THOSE BILLIONS OF DOLLARS HOME IN TRUCKS, HELICOPTERS, YACHTS AND WHATEVER?  I mean, the winners always win, and us commoners never do.  Dontcha think?
