TELL THEM NOT TO WATER DOWN OBAMAS ENERGY BILL!
When he was running for President, Barack Obama promised us global warming legislation that made polluters pay for messing up our climate. But in crafting the bill, House Democrats gave away the store - and are now proposing to give the biggest polluters in the country free credits to keep fouling our atmosphere.
We have to tell Congress that's not OK, and to get back to Obama's plan by making polluters pay for all the pollution credits. But time is short - the bill is being amended and marked up RIGHT NOW in committee. Email your Representative and tell him or her not to weaken Obama's energy bill.
The core of the House bill is to require every climate-polluter in the country to register their emissions, and then decrease them over time. Since polluters can trade credits for money if they cut pollution ahead of schedule, the idea is that we'll create an economic incentive to save the planet. It's worked in the past for acid rain pollution, and lots of people from Al Gore to President Obama think it can help stop global warming too.
But not if we give away the right to pollute for free. Free credits mean no incentive to reduce pollution. It also means no revenue to help homeowners save energy, or invest in green jobs. The Democratic leadership knows this, but they've traded away the principles of climate protection in favor of picking up votes from a handful of members who are bought-and-sold by industry3.
We can stop them. If we bring enough pressure onto the House, they'll reconsider watering down the bill and make polluters pay for the right to emit carbon again. That's what Obama wanted and what America needs.

Estimate: Social Security trustfund exhausted 4 years sooner than last year's forecast.
The recession has taken its toll on Social Security. The officials who oversee the program forecast Tuesday that the Social Security trust fund will be exhausted by 2037 -- four years earlier than estimated last year.
I do not know why this paragraph is even in the story. The recession has wounded the social security fund! The lie of the year! When I see this I see red and want to start smashing things. Then we go to the next paragraph.
The trust fund reflects a $2.4 trillion surplus paid into Social Security over 20 years that Uncle Sam has borrowed, spent and promised to pay back. Trust fund exhaustion represents the point at which only 76% of benefits could be paid out.
The federal government borrowed? How much interest did they promise to pay and when was the debt supposed to be paid off. Surely the time of paying off the debt would be in time to rescue the fund and take care of the recipients. To arrange it any other way would be a crime against the people of this country. And I mean those very words. Could you imagine the criminal mind of anyone who robbed the very citizens of this country of their pension money? Talk about a criminal deviant mind! And the whole idea of this precious money being loaned out has me in a rage. WHO LOANED IT?! What is the motherfuckers name and where does he live? Who authorized him to do the transaction? Where is the congressional authority to do such a thing? I did some research and found out that this financial mayhem was instituted by punk-ass RONALD REAGAN. You remember Reagan, I'm sure. He is the guy who outspent the Russians and won the cold war. He is the guy who started taking OUR retirement funds and not paying them back. He got a pension for being president that would astonish most folks. Somewhere between 500 and a 1000 times greater than any pitiful Social Security that we might have earned if they left our money alone.

By some counts the cost to the American citizens of the war in Iraq (before President Obama put the "wars" on the books, the costs were not counted!) is near 73 trillion dollars. There are some 30 million Iraqi citizens, the majority of whom really dislike having ANY soldiers there shooting at them and dropping 'smart' bombs in their neighborhoods. HERE is a way Obama could make them all smile AND put American servicemembers to work here in the States:

Charges unlikely over interrogation memos CLICK~N~READ
In a draft report, Justice Department investigators are said to recommend against charges for Bush administration lawyers, instead advocating possible state disciplinary action against 2 of them.
MY question is, just who the hell these "investigators" are (former Bush cronies or ball-less Obama appointees), and what the HELL country they think they are living in?
I am sickened that I spent 6 YEARS in service to my country (honorable discharge in 1970) in the belief that we are somehow "morally superior", when it turns out that we torture people as a matter of course.
Please, won't someone please buy our home at the ocean so we can be on our way?

THE PERMANENT CRIMINAL STATE
I've said it before, and I will say it again: Obama's plan to use the bankers who sold us out for their derivative dreams to repair the damage they did is a joke. No, not a FUNNY joke, but a joke on working people everywhere around this garden planet. His attempt to "make it right" or "repair the damage" is to make it like it was and always has been: BANKERS RUN THE PLACE. THAT MY FRIENDS IS NOT CHANGE, IT IS SIMPLY MORE OF THE SAME IN A NICE SHINY COAT OF PAINT, and it is a sad thing.
While Motor City looks more and more like the 9th ward in New Orleans after Katrina, bank "stress tests" are nothing more than a sham to cover up the greatest theft of jobs/income/homes/money in the history of America.

So far, Mister President Obama has not shown a lot of balls or forward/progressive thinking or action. He talks a good talk, but at nut-cutting time, his knife aint so sharp.
