The gas tax holiday is fluff, pure and simple. Thomas Friedman is no friend of the working person, but this time I must agree with him. Shame on Hillary for being the most shameless panderer I have seen in my entire 40 years of voting.

On the other hand, Obama's ideas about rail make great sense to me. I have long believed that rail and barge were the most efficient way to move people and goods. A rail infrastructure that WORKS and then we could have electric or hydrogen or some other motive power yet un-invented to move those goods and people from the rail hubs to their ultimate destinations.

Innovation and creative/critical thinking USED TO BE among Americans' greatest assets. Perhaps it is not too late to re-fire these flames of enterprise.

As Jim Hightower explains it, is that “the wealthiest 1 percent of Americans possess more net worth today than the bottom 90 percent of us combined. Worse, these privileged few and their political henchmen have structured a new economic ‘normal’ of long-term joblessness, low wages, no benefits or worker rights, miserly public services, and a steadily widening chasm between the rich and the rest of us.” We must restore sanity to this nation.
