Drought in Australia, a Global Shortage of Rice
The SunRice plant in Deniliquin, Australia, once processed enough rice to feed 20 million people a year. Last December the mill, the largest in the Southern Hemisphere, was closed.
There really is no time to stand around and listen to corporations tell us how green they have suddenly become. We need leaders NOW who can and will cut through the bullshit. Nothing less than the survival of our species hangs in the balance.

As Jim Hightower explains it, is that “the wealthiest 1 percent of Americans possess more net worth today than the bottom 90 percent of us combined. Worse, these privileged few and their political henchmen have structured a new economic ‘normal’ of long-term joblessness, low wages, no benefits or worker rights, miserly public services, and a steadily widening chasm between the rich and the rest of us.” We must restore sanity to this nation.
