The mainstream Democrats' aquiescence to the Bush crew is nothing short of treason. After going along with the criminally insane White House, I worry there is no way to stop an attack on Iran by Dick Cheney in our name.

The American press is partner to the treason all around us, and yes, as I look around me, I fear that there are great numbers of American citizens who, by their need of huge shiny things are part of the treason that has eaten into my America as cancer eats and destroys it's host.

I tried to watch some of the (what about 99th?) Democratic debate yesterday, but could not. I heard a few genuine questions, but kept SEEING Hillary and Obama's faces. They are truly unacceptable choices if we are to go forward as useful considerate citizens of the garden planet.

Several of the Democratic candidates are sincere about ending the Iraq war and beginning the long road out of despair for America and what friends we have left.

The way American capitalism is practiced is more like a cancer than a system of promoting healthful living for all. The Bush administration (back to Ronald Reagan and perhaps more) is that cancer I spoke of:
"Cancer is adaptable and those cancer cells that are best adapted will survive, with their survival characteristics becoming stronger with each new generation of cells. Basically, cancer will do everything it can to survive and grow. Unlike healthy cells, cancer cells that metastasize (move from one part of the body to another) exhibit litle or now cell-to-cell adhesion. Most cells in the body - other than circulating blood cells - bond with one another to form well - defined tissues. Cancer cells, on the other hand, are free agents thoroughly adapted to foster their own growth and movement. Once metastasis has occurred, cancer becomes more powerful and much more difficult to treat. This is when cancer can be most life-threatening."*

If we use the body discussed here as an analogy for our garden planet Earth, we can easily see the "super capitalists" as the cancer cells. Folks, we are in deeep shit here, and we need a crew (to include you and me) with some big effective shovels to dig us out, and we had better get seriously busy.

As Jim Hightower explains it, is that “the wealthiest 1 percent of Americans possess more net worth today than the bottom 90 percent of us combined. Worse, these privileged few and their political henchmen have structured a new economic ‘normal’ of long-term joblessness, low wages, no benefits or worker rights, miserly public services, and a steadily widening chasm between the rich and the rest of us.” We must restore sanity to this nation.
